Shane Clements: the UnHypnotist

Futility – A Poem

We think we must deal with
problems in such a way,
That makes them disappear
and clear the day.

We try to change Reality
into something new,
Manipulate our world,
just to improve the view.

A world where dogs don’t bite,
or friends don’t die.
Where accidents don’t happen,
or babies never cry.

Even on the surface
This should be plain to see,
it’s nothing more than an exercise
In Futility.
